For almost monday, it all started in a San Diego surf shop. Longtime friends Dawson Daugherty (vocals), Cole Clisby (guitar) and Luke Fabry (bass) bonded over surf culture and a shared love of music. They burst onto the scene in 2020 with their breakout single “broken people,” an indie-pop anthem that earned a remix by Grammy-nominated duo Sofi Tukker and climbed into the charts at Alternative Radio. It was an early glimpse into what would become their signature: infectious energy and danceable grooves.
From there, their momentum accelerated quickly. In 2021, almost monday made their festival debuts at Lollapalooza, BottleRock and Firefly, and shared stages with Kings of Leon, Dayglow, Walk the Moon and Joywave, further solidifying their rising status.
The following year expanded their global reach. In 2022, coastal-inspired singles like “sunburn” and “sun keeps on shining” propelled them further – with “sun keeps on shining” becoming a Top 10 hit on SiriusXM Alt Nation, Top 20 at Alternative Radio, and the official song of the 2022 Vans US Open of Surfing. That same year, they played Governor’s Ball, WonderBus, and Innings Festival, toured North and South America with The Driver Era, and headlined shows in Japan and South Korea.
2023 grew their footprint across both hemispheres. They hit the stage at WonderRoad, Wonderstruck, Life is Beautiful, and Have A Nice Trip Festival in Korea, while joining tours throughout the year with AJR, Weathers, and The Driver Era. Their vibrant presence and distinctive sound earned attention from Alternative Press, Forbes, People, GQ Australia, Earmilk, Flaunt, Ones To Watch, and more – each recognizing the band’s impact in the alt-pop space.
Then came 2024 – a breakout year on the road. The band toured with Beach Weather, hit U.S. arenas with AJR, returned to Europe, and played dates across South America. In April, they released “can’t slow down,” a shimmering, high-energy anthem that scored them their first #1 on the Billboard Alternative Airplay Chart. By September, they released their debut album DIVE -a kaleidoscopic mix of hooks, radiance and sun-drenched world-building, brought to life visually by artist Dave Bowers.
With a late-night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, a sold-out DIVE Tour across the U.S., UK and Europe, and the release of the DIVE deluxe edition in 2025, almost monday has proven they are just getting started. Their high-energy live shows have become must-see events as they head into fall, launching the DIVE tour Pt. 2 with stops at Lollapalooza Paris & Berlin, MAD COOL Festival in Madrid, and Outside Lands in San Francisco.

Fresh off the sold-out success of their debut headline tour across the U.S. and Europe, almost monday are hitting the road again in support of their debut album, DIVE and hit song “can’t slow down.”
THE DIVE TOUR – PART 2 launches June 11 in Mexico City before heading across the pond for a string of European headline shows beginning June 23 in Cardiff, UK. Along the way, the band will hit major festivals including Lollapalooza Berlin (July 13) and Lollapalooza Paris (July 19).
The North American leg kicks off September 18 in Oklahoma City, OK, and wraps October 14 in Boise, ID.

almost monday continues to build momentum with their globe-spanning DIVE headline tour which kicked off this week to back-to-back sold out shows in St. Louis and Denver. The tour makes stops in major cities across the U.S. including shows in New York on February 4 at Gramercy Theatre and Los Angeles on February 22 at Echoplex. The European leg follows, beginning March 1 in Madrid, Spain, and concludes on March 29 in Dublin, Ireland.

San Diego’s almost monday have announced their headline world tour, THE DIVE TOUR, in support of their new album, DIVE. Listen on Apple Music and Spotify.
The tour begins with an Asia run that starts Thursday, November 14th in South Korea, then starts the U.S. leg, which begins on January 24th in Salt Lake City and will run through February 22nd in Los Angeles. Following the North American leg, almost monday will head to Europe and the UK for additional tour dates. Spotify Pre-sale tickets will be available on Wednesday October 9th at 10 AM PT, and public on-sale will begin on Friday, October 11th at 10 am local time. Consisting of Dawson Daugherty (vocals), Cole Clisby (guitar), and Luke Fabry (bass), almost monday continues to expand upon their distinctive sundrenched sound with debut album DIVE. The indie-rock/indie-pop trio infuses endlessly catchy hooks into their catalog of songs about good times, friendship, and SoCal surf culture, winning over fans across the globe.
Showcasing a series of tight, upbeat melodies and toe-tapping rhythms, DIVE is a coming-of-age record and, as Dawson puts it, “a snapshot of us as individuals and as a collective.” He adds: “We take Polaroids of the crowd at every show. We wanted the album to feel like one of those Polaroids where you capture the moment. It might be blurry, but it’s that snapshot in time of who we are and what we like.”
The new offerings from the album further meld the trio’s nostalgic surf-rock tones with modern indie-pop production, honed by producer Simon Oscroft (One Republic, Declan McKenna) . Tracks like funk-inflected synth bop and album single “jupiter” and indie-pop gem “can’t slow down,” which hit the Top 20 on the Alternative Radio chart this week, further encapsulate album themes of nostalgia and the magic of getting older.
DIVE and its singles also feature a collaboration with the artist Dave Bowers, who created all of their single artwork. “What drew us to Dave’s work was its simplicity,” Cole says. “It’s not pop art, but it’s very colorful and stands out, and it just fits the vibe of the album.”
In August, almost monday concluded a 6-week North American tour supporting AJR and playing to crowds at legendary venues including New York City’s Madison Square Garden and The Forum in Los Angeles. The band is currently on a run of shows across Europe and the United Kingdom, bringing their high-energy live shows on the road to support THE DRIVER ERA. Filmed in Lisbon, Portugal just a day before the band kicked off their on-going UK and European tour with The Driver Era, the extraterrestrial video shows the band blasting off to another planet. Directed by Harry Deadman and shot on 35mm film, the visual brings new life to the funk-inflected synth bop as the band explore the new-found Jupiter aka a quarry in Sesimbra.

“Each song has its own little story and life,” Cole says. “You kind of have to surrender. ‘jupiter’ was one we had to press on through — and 10 months later, there it is. This and ‘she likes sports’ are unique, because for somebody who knows our band, both of those songs feel quite different from what we’ve done before.”
On “can’t slow down,” which features falsetto refrain, slick beat, and shimmering keys, Luke adds, “That chorus had always stuck out to me. That was another one where we took it back and reworked it over a few weeks. It keeps it interesting — every song gets its chance to breathe and have life. Sometimes that’s the same day you start writing, and sometimes it’s a month later.”

San Diego trio, almost monday premiere the new video for their irresistible debut track “broken people.” “Distinctly poppy, both the track and the video retain a very indie allure, magnifying the overall appeal and transcending the cookie-cutter pop stereotype,” noted The Kollection.
With a nod to Risky Business and The Truman Show, the concept for the video was built around the credo of not caring what others think, being yourself, having fun, and dancing like nobody’s watching. The band accomplishes all of that in the feel-good video with the help of director Caleb Gonz. Watch it HERE.
“This video was made by us and our friends,” says the band. “We steamed sheets for way too many hours, shot half of it at Dawson’s Grandma’s house (thanks nanny!), and invited our schoolmates to jump around in Cole’s living room. All in all, our first music video came out perfectly imperfect.”
With its soulful melodies and shimmery textures, “broken people” delivers a down-to-earth message of resilience in the face of failure. In crafting the lyrics, the now 21-year old frontman Dawson Daugherty drew directly from experience – how he felt appearing on a singing competition show his sophomore year of high school. “It was pretty gnarly getting shut down in front of millions of people and then having to go back to school and face everyone,” he recalls. “But after a while I realized: I shouldn’t stop doing what I love, I should go start a band with my friends. That experience ended up fueling everything for me.”
