Kevin Jonas has captivated sold-out crowds in legendary stadiums, smashed multiple records, toppled charts in successive decades, graced the covers of magazines, and earned the adoration of a diehard global fanbase as one third of 2x-GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum trio Jonas Brothers. Twenty years into an impressive and iconic career thus far, he’s doing the one thing he hasn’t done yet in 2025…

He’s officially making his solo debut.

For the very first time, the singer, songwriter,  producer, personality, author, entrepreneur, and proud family man showcases his spirit as a solo artist on a series of singles for Hollywood Records and much more to come. It’s both a reflection on his journey to this point and a harbinger of what’s to come.

“Over the years, I’ve gone through so many different iterations of who I am as a person,” he observes. “I’ve gone from a 16-year-old who just wanted to play guitar to being in a touring band, becoming a husband and a father, losing the band, rejoining the band, and focusing on who I am again. I’ve always gone with the flow, but I’ve tried to better myself every time. For me, this is the next step.”

As the oldest of four brothers, the New Jersey native instinctually embraced music. He went from watching his dad sing at church to picking up his first cassette tape—Teenage Politics by MxPx. A little later, he discovered John Mayer and became obsessed with songwriting and storytelling. Home sick from school one day, everything changed. “I grabbed a ‘Teach Yourself Guitar’ book and never looked back,” he smiles.

Amidst moving 20 million-plus albums, generating tens of billions of streams, and selling millions of tickets, he experienced countless unforgettable moments with Jonas Brothers. His personal favorites spanned performances alongside the likes of Stevie Wonder, honoring Sir Paul McCartney at The White House, receiving GRAMMY® Award nods, and “seeing the reaction of my wife and kids when we played Fenway Park,” as he recalls.

If he was going to drop solo music, it had to be the right song at the right time. For Kevin, that song was his introductory single “Changing.” Produced by Jason Evigan [Maroon 5, Madonna, Dua Lipa], the track instantly spoke to him right off the bat.

“The minute I sang ‘Changing’, I knew it was the one,” he affirms. “‘Changing’ felt like it belonged to me. It also finally felt right to do this on my own. There’s no pressure. There’s no firm timeline. When a song feels right, I can release it. I love the freedom of being an independent artist and doing what I want when I want.”

Backed by a steady beat with a guitar in his hands, Kevin strums a breezy chord progression on “Changing.” He sets the scene and acknowledges, “This coffee’s cold like these same old conversation.” Accelerating the tempo, he leans into his high register on the hook, “I’ll keep changing.” In epic fashion, a soaring guitar solo caps off the crescendo of emotion.

“To me, it’s evocative of going through the motions with life and continuously trying to improve yourself,” he goes on. “Life keeps changing, and the song is a positive reinforcement of that idea. It says, ‘Don’t let things get stale,’ which is embodied in the ‘coffee’s cold’ line. You need to know when to move onto the next thing and you also need to keep moving no matter what the situation or relationship is. I’m stepping into my next thing.”

It’s yet another facet of his creativity though.

Shining in multiple arenas outside of music, Kevin notably co-hosted ABC’s Claim To Fame with his youngest brother Frankie. He has co-written two children’s books with his wife Danielle, namely There’s a Beach in My Bedroom and There’s a Rock Concert in My Rock Concert. As a successful and strategic businessman, his portfolio encompasses Rob’s Backstage Popcorn, Peels, Snackpass, Mindright, and more.

With more music on the horizon, Kevin still keeps it simple.

“At the end of the day, I’m a father, husband, a lover of music, and a typical guy from New Jersey,” he leaves off. “My kids go to public school in their hometown, and that’s the life and energy I hope to bring to the table. Everything harks back to a simpler time for me. I want you to know I’m just Kevin. I think this music shows that.”
