Adrian Lyles traces cycles of change and growth in his music, threading together alternative, pop, hip-hop, and indie into a personal tapestry reflective of who he is. The sound often mirrors the emotion. Breezy hooks might reflect moments of joy, while dramatic soundscapes could correspond to intense introspection. After gathering millions of streams and earning critical acclaim from Billboard, OnesToWatch, and more, he explores how choices transform us and our relationships on his interconnected EP series Horizons [Hollywood Records]. The three installments—Dawn, Dusk, and Night—paint a complete picture for the Dallas-raised and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor.

“Each EP follows a different choice being made,” he elaborates. “Dawn is all love songs, and it examines the choice to fall in love with another person. Dusk is about the choice of letting your past self actually control who you are now. Night is when you tear away from this past self in order to grow. Grouping them together allowed us to create a whole greater story about choice and those real, raw, and messy feelings we all experience.”

Adrian made waves in 2024 with his debut single “Formalize Me.” He continued to gain traction with “King of Everything” and “Concrete Boy.” Earning tastemaker praise, Atwood Magazine attested, “Already, his output feels marked by a charismatic dynamism.” OnesToWatch raved, “From the start, Lyles’ voice is a vessel of emotion, carrying a raw and rugged sound uniquely his own.” 2025 also saw him support almost monday on a sold-out tour, performing to packed houses coast-to-coast. Along the way, he diligently pieced together what would become Horizons alongside GRAMMY® Award-winning producer and trusted creative confidant Oak Felder [Rihanna, Sabrina Carpenter]. He absorbed inspiration from the likes of Dominic Fike, Twenty One Pilots, and Dijon. To further shape this vision, he tapped in with collaborators such as Phil Simmonds [Diplo, JP Cooper], Tony Ferrari [Lee Brice, vaultboy], Zack Djurich [Kid Cudi, Kanye West], and Sebastian Kole [Alicia Keys, Alessia Cara].

“The sessions were all based on feeling,” he observes. “We pulled the various ideas together to tell a story. Even though the songs are very different, there’s an emotional throughline. You get rock, rap, and pop, but it feels right.”

He introduced this era with Horizons: Dawn highlighted by the tone-setting “Way Down.” Right out of the gate, Melodic Magazine applauded how, “The EP lives in the moments before dawn, where pain is real and honest, but it’s the light that remains shining through.” The narrative continues to unfold across the follow-up Horizons: Dusk. The single “Peace of Mind” layers acoustic guitar over a head-nodding bassline punctuated by Adrian’s fiery falsetto. Horns uplift a hypnotic hook, “We’ll find silence in the symphony, balance in the symmetry, I swear. Oh, we’ll find peace of mind.”

“It feels exactly like what this EP is trying to say,” he notes. “You’re simply trying to find peace of mind and feel better.”

On the other end of the spectrum, his wavy delivery practically floats across a thick drumbeat on “Why Not.” His airtight bars hit hard, and the harmonies shimmer as he wonders, “Why do you think that I’m lost? Why do you think that you found me?”

“‘Why Not’ goes so many places,” he notes. “It poses all of these questions for anyone who’s listening to answer. The verses go through conflict like ‘Get me out of here. I want to be somewhere else and someone else’. The chorus basically says, ‘Wait a second, I kind of like these changes I’m making in my life.’”

Dusk concludes with the revelatory “Don’t Expect Much.” Chords audibly slide down the fretboard of an acoustic guitar, and lightly plucked notes ring out. Getting into his feelings, he makes a confession, “I live in a neighborhood in my head full of the faces I’ve met and the people I’ve left and the words I thought that I left here unsaid.” It culminates with a reverb-drenched plea, “Just don’t expect much from me.”

“It’s my favorite song I’ve ever written,” he smiles. “It looks back on who I was, how I’ve changed, who I want to be, and trying to eliminate the stress and fear that comes with all of that. It was beautifully cathartic.”

Horizons: Night opens with “I Can’t Hear You.” Teeming with emotion, his voice quivers over the stark hum of synths. “I wanted to create an intro for the record,” he adds. “I’m really big on world-building. I took this poem I had written and put a melody to it. I wanted to make it a cinematic song. It essentially says, ‘I’m changing, accepting things about myself, and growing into a new person’.”

This body of work comes to a close with “Take It Easy.” Organic percussion holds the tempo, and he picks up the pace with slick rapping, “Calm down for a second boy, every now and then you break down for a second boy.”  It climaxes on a wistful chorus, “She said it ‘Take it easy, take it easy’. We’ll be on Rodeo sleeping easy on the weekends, someday.”

“‘Take It Easy’ felt very natural, and it was just saying what it needed to say,” he continues. “I’d been working on it for a while, and it stood the test of time. To me, it feels like a good ending for everything.”

A dynamic background has prepared Adrian to make an artistic statement of this caliber and gravity. Growing up in Dallas, he went from taking piano lessons at three-years-old to performing dozens of gigs for the non-profit Melody of Hope as a kid. During his formative years, he balanced writing and recording and acting with studying at Booker T. Washington High School of Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas. The world initially got to know him as “Jet” on Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, paving the way for his proper introduction as an artist.

Now, he’s opening up like never before.

“I want people to walk away from Horizons having felt every emotion,” he leaves off. “Whether it’s anger, sadness, happiness, or confusion, I hope they listen and see themselves in these records.”

Adrian Lyles doesn’t just make music about his life. Instead, his music actually reflects the ebb and flow of life itself.

Shifting styles without warning, guitar-driven alternative soundscapes mirror the unpredictability of each and every moment, while arrestingly catchy pop choruses capture a universal calling to communicate and connect. The Dallas-raised and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actor leans on over a decade of playing live and writing to channel unfiltered emotions and authentic experiences through a series of 2024 singles and his forthcoming debut for Hollywood Records.

“I want my music to be extraordinarily human, imperfect, and real,” he states. “If you listen to me, I hope you remember you’re a human being with a unique existence. Your feelings are true, and you’re allowed to feel whatever you feel.”

He initially immersed himself in writing and recording during 2023. Since then, Adrian has not only quickly become comfortable, but also impressively prolific in the studio. Early on, he linked up with legendary production powerhouse Max Martin ‘s writer/producer collective, MXM, at their studios in Los Angeles. “In a way, it felt like I was thrown into the deep end of the pool immediately,” he reminisces. “I’ve always written music on my own, but working with someone responsible for so many hits was crazy. We were doing a song per day and would bring back a finished song after every session. It really shaped and solidified what I was trying to do before by myself.”

Following his sessions at MXM, he continued to evolve while collaborating with an A-list cohort of songwriters and producers such as Oak, Gian Stone, Johan Carlsson, and more. He has also tapped the talents of a network of rising producers a la Lenii, Ella Boh, and Housefly. On a creative tear fueled by the support of his own vibrant creative community, he penned a staggering 150-plus tunes for his proper debut LP.

This experience infused the music with confidence and a distinct identity of its own, enabling Adrian to speak and sing straight from the heart.

“Music has always been at the forefront of my mind,” he notes. “I’ve always felt it in my soul. It was like I was awaiting to say something for all of this time. Exactly what comes out of my head and heart is what we put into the music. We just find a way to materialize it together. I think what makes it so different is just that it comes straight from me.”

Born in Florida, Adrian’s musical journey began with piano lessons at just three years old. His parents introduced him to music from Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Kate Bush, and Whitney Houston, as well as Chinese traditional music. He later discovered favorite artists and inspirations such as Twenty One Pilots, Dominic Fike, and Jon Bellion. He honed his voice while working with the non-profit Melody of Hope, performing at numerous benefit concerts and gigging multiple times per week. At the same time, he wrote and recorded songs of his own. Attending Booker T. Washington High School of Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, he simultaneously embraced acting. During 2022, he landed the role of “Jet” on Season 3 of Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. He contributed a handful of recordings to the show’s Official Soundtrack, serving up the fan favorite “Right Place.” The latter tallied millions of streams and garnered a nomination at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards. Following Season 4, he inked a deal with Hollywood Records and has not stopped writing since.

Now, he kicks off the next era with his official debut single “Formalize Me.” On the track, palm-muted guitar tiptoes around a head-nodding beat punctuated by snappy cymbals. He flexes his versatile vocals as he warns, “Don’t say you won’t come back, I’ll see your ass tomorrow.” Strings uplift an undeniable refrain, and he urges, “Formalize me, make me something or make me nothing.”

“Somebody will do something for you, and you’ll feel as if you owe this person,” he reveals. “The whole song sarcastically says, ‘Go ahead and turn my art into a thing as many people as possible will like. Take away my originality’. The conversation follows the narrator’s mental journey. It builds towards a big realization at the end, ‘No, I actually don’t want that; I want to make my own art’.”

Sirens give way to wailing keys and a hazy bounce on “Somewhere To Go.” His breathy verses coast over soft piano and acoustic guitar until an anthemic chorus takes hold with a plea, “I’ve been stuck inside my mind, can you take me home?”

“Love songs are much harder to write than everybody thinks,” he laughs. “I tend to go about it in a very real way. ‘Somewhere To Go’ follows the story of this guy who’s in love with a girl and she’s his sanctuary. Sonically, we gave it an alternative and grungy vibe.”

Then, there’s “King of Everything.” His intimate delivery weighs heavy on a softly plucked acoustic arpeggio. He wrestles with self-doubt and anxiety out loud, “How long do I have to wait around for everyone to laugh and say that now I’m better than they thought?”

“All of my writing is from a place of honesty, but ‘King of Everything’ is definitely the most personal to me,” he elaborates. “The song is about doubt. You’re wondering if you’re going to make it. Without moderation, growth can be painful and stressful. You need to let yourself breathe.”

Ultimately, Adrian’s music is the sound of humanity in all of its perfect imperfection.

“This is just me,” he leaves off. “I hope you get something positive from my story and are maybe inspired to share your story.”

Los Angeles – (February 13, 2026) — Adrian Lyles announces his new single, “All That I Wanted Was You,” releasing wherever you stream music February 20.  Adrian is currently on tour with label-mate Freya Skye, debuting the song during the tour’s opening weekend and performing it live in his set each night. Adrian wrote “All That I Wanted Was You” with Brian Brundage (Tai Verdes, Mark Ambor, Claire Rosinkranz), the latter of whom also produced the track.

Said Adrian of “All That I Wanted Was You,” “This song is a yearning and regret-filled anthem about how it feels to lose someone, and realizing how much they meant to you after it’s already too late.”  A universally relatable theme, the song has become a fan favorite and highlight as he performs it live on tour each night.

“All That I Wanted Was You” marks a full circle moment for Adrian.  Gigging around his hometown of Dallas, TX as a teenager, Adrian experienced a spark that ignited his desire to pursue music as he was wrapping up a set of covers at the local House of Blues. Hearing the screams of the audience in the main venue, Adrian peeked through a window to see Tai Verdes performing his hit song, “AOK,” with a room full of fans singing along. Inspired in this moment to start writing his own original songs in hopes of impacting people in the same way, Adrian began his journey as an artist. After moving to Los Angeles and signing to Hollywood Records, Adrian sought out Brian Brundage, the co-writer and producer of “AOK,” and wrote and recorded “All That I Wanted Was You” with Brian.

October 17, 2025 (Los Angeles, CA) –  Emerging alt-pop singer/songwriter Adrian Lyles wraps up his vulnerable series of Horizons EPs with final installment, Horizons: Night, out now via Hollywood Records. This final EP is centered around finding ways to forgive yourself and moving forward. After exploring themes of relentlessly searching for love and grappling with self doubt on the first two releases, this EP sees Adrian finally exhale. Of the project, which includes production by OAK (Rihanna, Usher, Kehlani) and Housefly (Kim Petras, Tyga), Adrian shares, “‘Horizons: Night’ is all about forging new paths. ‘Dawn’ and ‘Dusk’ were focused on me being led by love and my old self. This is the first EP that follows me making the choices for myself. It’s freedom and acceptance. It is the end of this era of being led.”

Fans can hear the Horizons EPs live as Adrian joins Midnight Til Morning on their North American tour, which kicks off October 19 in Montreal, QC. The tour includes sold-out stops at Bluebird Theater in Denver and the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles before coming to a close on November 16 at San Francisco’s The Regency Ballroom. Adrian’s desperate pleas echo over solemn guitar riffs as he begs his former partner to return. On creating the track, written by Adrian, Tony Ferrari, and Dan Gleyzer and produced by Dan Gleyzer, Adrian shares, “Love songs are much harder to write than everybody thinks. I tend to go about it in a very real way. ‘Somewhere To Go’ follows the story of this guy who’s in love with a girl and she’s his sanctuary – the concept of not finding home in a place, but in a person.”

Fans can hear “Somewhere To Go” live in 2025 as Adrian joins indie-pop trio almost monday on The DIVE Tour. The tour begins on January 24, 2025 in Salt Lake City and makes stops in New York City, Washington DC, and more before wrapping at The Echoplex in Los Angeles on February 22. Adrian’s musical journey began with piano lessons at just three years old and continued throughout middle and high school with Adrian performing gigs around Dallas, TX with increasing frequency. In 2022, Adrian starred as “Jet” on Seasons 3 and 4 of Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, contributing several fan favorite recordings to the show’s official soundtrack. With over a decade of experience playing live and songwriting, Adrian is ready to wear his heart on his sleeve on his forthcoming debut album, writing dozens of songs for the project. September 20, 2024 – (Burbank, CA) – Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adrian Lyles has signed to Hollywood Records. The soulful and genre-bending Lyles releases his debut single and video, “Formalize Me,” today followed by his debut album in 2025. “Formalize Me” features a palm-muted guitar that tiptoes around a head-nodding beat punctuated by snappy cymbals and Adrian’s versatile vocals.

Of today’s release, Adrian shared, “’Formalize Me’ is a very personal self-introduction of who I am. It takes a deep look into the need to stay true to who I am and the art I’m making.”

Having an innate knack for storytelling, Adrian wrote dozens of songs for his debut album over the course of the past year, working alongside an A-team of writers and producers including Oak Felder, Gian Stone and Johan Carlsson. Lyles has been performing live for over a decade, leaving audiences rapt with his introspective lyrics and surreal expression. Adrian’s sonic palette is as diverse as his background; his mother is Jamaican and Chinese, and his father is African-American.

The Dallas-raised Lyles moved to Los Angeles in 2022. After wrapping season 4 of Disney+’s “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” which launched the career of Olivia Rodrigo, Adrian jumped into recording sessions and has been writing ever since. Now his journey continues with the release of “Formalize Me.”
