Throughout a near-decade, Dallas trio little image morphed from a group of perpetually online suburban kids who were obsessed with underground indie rock and had no idea what they wanted to be into the tight-knit outfit you see today. Made up of Jackson Simmons (vocals/guitar), Brandon Walters(bass/synth) and Troy Bruner (drums), the trio truly blossomed during 2020’s lockdown.
That extra time allowed the members to fully expand on the promise of their early singles “WORTH IT” and “EGO,” exploring different ways to create a pop-rock song beyond the basic guitar/bass/drums template. This new burst of creativity led to a partnershipwith Chad Copelin (Sufjan Stevens, 5SOS). Simmons credits Copelin with creating a warm, nurturing studio environment that allowed each member to explore their influences and culminated in the May 2023 release of their debut album SELF TITLED followed by a U.S. headline tour that summer. The album was deliberately sequenced to tell a story of self-doubt, self-reflection and eventually, self-love, and it scored the band their first #1 single alternative radio hit with “OUT OF MY MIND.”

Upon first listen to new music from Dallas alt-pop trio little image, you’ll probably find yourself asking, “With songs this well-constructed, how have I not heard of this band before?” That’s primarily by design, says drummer Troy Bruner.
“We’ve been playing music together for eight years, but it doesn’t look like we’ve been a band for eight years, and there’s a reason for that,” he explains. “This is the beginning.”
Throughout that near-decade, little image morphed from a group of perpetually online suburban teens who were obsessed with underground indie rock and had no idea what they wanted to be, into the tight-knit outfit you see today. (Along the way, Bruner toured with platinum-selling act Judah & The Lion.) While many young artists had their careers derailed in 2020 due to COVID, it actually managed to save little image, which was gearing up to announce itself to the world without realizing the members needed more time for reflection.
“It was a blessing in disguise,” Bruner says of lockdown. “We were about to jump into something we didn’t exactly have figured out.”
”More than half the record came out of that downtime,” frontman Jackson Simmons elaborates. “We got to hone in on some ideas. To be able to sit with them was really good.”
That extra time allowed the members of little image to fully expand on the promise of their early singles “WORTH IT” and “EGO,” exploring different ways to create a pop-rock song beyond the basic guitar/bass/drums template. This new burst of creativity led to a partnership with producer Chad Copelin, whose CV includes such sonically diverse artists as Third Eye Blind, Sufjan Stevens and 5 Seconds Of Summer. Simmons credits Copelin with creating a warm, nurturing studio environment that allowed each member to explore their influences.
“Something we talk about a lot is if little image could be anything, it would be a world people could live in,” comments bassist Brandon Walters. “It’s very important to us to create a world where someone can have a safe place to question things and not know the right answers and not have it all figured out.”
“It starts with the three of us,” Bruner continues. “We’re all best friends. If we can start there, which is how we love each other, that expands and a culture is created. At the end of the day, we make all of this so someone can go to a show and be impacted — socially, mentally, spiritually. We want to give them an opportunity to step into something bigger than them.”
Of course, all of this is moot unless you have the songs to back it up, Luckily, little image doesn’t lack in memorable moments. Their current single, the M83-esque indie-dance number “LUNGS BURN” is a diamond in a sea of gems:
“Taking a broad scope view of current culture and how damaging the idea of technology and the obsession with our self-image can be, ‘LUNGS BURN’ is an invitation to let go, be yourself, and be present instead of drowning yourself in your phone and the toxicities that exist there. The song is a cry for people to come together and experience something without those things in play, and truly feel something bigger than themselves.”
Then there’s the more guitar-oriented vibe of “BLUE,” a song spawned out of the past few years of political strife in America, described by Bruner as “a very special song to all of us.”
“What inspired ‘BLUE’ is that sometimes in our culture, things can be very, very loud and you can hear a lot of opinions,” Simmons begins. “We love to hear all kinds of sides, but instead of screaming and yelling, we take a back seat and just listen and try to find the voice of reason. I think if a lot of people would take that approach more often, there would be a lot less chaos going on. I respect the passion and the rebellion in some aspects of things, but sometimes you have to take a step back and say, ‘Let me learn from you.’”
This level of self-reflection is a rarity in music these days and is a testament to the work little image’s members do on themselves. (Therapy and journaling are among the topics that get brought up freely in conversation between the trio.) It’s part of what makes Bruner’s big-picture goal for little image so compelling.
“When bands headline Red Rocks in Colorado, they write their name backstage,” explains Troy. “This was probably not the right thing to do, karmically speaking, but when I played there with Judah & The Lion in 2019, I wrote half of our name — ‘little’ — and took a picture of where it was, so when we headline Red Rocks, we finish it off together.”
Together. If there’s a single word that can sum up little image — from their music to their mindset — that’s it.

“‘little image’s aesthetic is but one component of the band’s overall irresistible artistic package, which starts with the rocking pop flavor of the band’s music.”
– Dallas Observer
(Burbank, CA – March 28, 2025) Dallas alt-pop trio little image returns with their latest track, “RUN FOR FOREVER” – an exploration of longing, regret, and the restless search for fulfillment. Written by Jackson Simmons, Troy Bruner, and Brandon Walters, the song dives into the emotional whirlwind of chasing something that may never be found. The evocative lyrics, “Give it all up just to catch a glimpse of what you could’ve had” – is delivered with a mix of nostalgia, hope, and the bittersweet ache of missed opportunities.
“’Run For Forever’ is a very special song to our band as it’s the very first thing we
wrote for our upcoming album. We live in a world where we all crave the innocence
and beauty of the human experience, but we have endless things in our life that we
think will fulfill us if we just keep running towards them. We run endlessly to chase
things that we think will fill the hole, sadness, depression, pain, etc., and end up never finding the answer. You want to ‘stop and look behind and see what you could have
had or could have been,’ remembering your pure/younger self. By the end of the
song, the hope is for a realization that the things we have been running towards
are not what we need to find freedom and purpose.”

(January 17, 2025) Dallas alt-pop trio little image is kicking off 2025 with the release of their new track “THE PRESSURE,” and a 20-city European tour run with labelmates almost monday. The tour launches on March 1 in Madrid, Spain. (See full tour dates below.)
Building on the synth/dance sounds the band is becoming known for “THE PRESSURE,” while sonically upbeat, lyrically the song touches on themes of mental and emotional struggle, capturing the weight of anxiety and isolation. “The song is about breaking at the seams,” says the band. “It’s a plea for help in the face of pressures too powerful to fight alone.”
Accompanying the release is the Sawyer Skipper directed music video. Shot in stark surroundings with the band narrowly escaping actual walls closing in on them, the video brings the song’s emotional themes to life.
“THE PRESSURE” is the first of new music coming from little image in 2025. Following an intense year personally and professionally, the band spent most of 2024 facing their demons through writing and recording the follow-up to their stunning debut album, SELF TITLED. Released in May 2023, the album featured the band’s first #1 hit on the Alternative Radio Chart with “OUT OF MY MIND.” Touring and accolades followed with the band named one of iHeart’s On The Verge Artist and hometown paper Dallas Observer writing, “From acoustic guitar arpeggios to danceable synth lines, what we know so far from the album proves an impressive reemergence for little image,” while The Honey Pop penned, “little image utilize alternative, acoustic, psychedelic, and mainstream pop influences to create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.”
With more new music on the horizon, little image is gearing up to make 2025 another milestone year.

“Strange Friends is a song that explores the stories and possibilities of the people in our lives. We like to keep our relationships inside a box that fits us neatly, but there is something beautiful and humanizing in being close with someone who has a completely different story than you. Even if it’s a little strange.”

The tour announcement follows the recent release of their stunning debut album, SELF TITLED, via Hollywood Records.
SELF TITLED, produced in partnership with Chad Copelin (Sufjan Stevens, 5 Seconds Of Summer) includes previously released, fan-favorite tracks, “LUNGS BURN,” “WORTH IT,” “EGO,” “BLUE,” and the punchy declaration of love, “OUT OF MY MIND.” The latter premiered on Sirius XM’s Alt Nation, was recently featured in an ad running on Hulu, and is currently #15 on Alternative Airplay. This year, the band was also added to iHeart’s premiere breaking artist program On The Verge – ALT. The group is currently receiving nearly half a million streams every week.

Made up of Jackson Simmons (vocals/guitar), Brandon Walters (bass/synth) and Troy Bruner (drums), the trio truly blossomed during 2020’s lockdown.
SELF TITLED doesn’t lack in memorable moments: From the hip-hop groove of “BALLET” to the electro-dance break in “WORTH IT” to the acoustic softness of “MAKEUP,” the album sonically delivers the goods. The M83-esque indie-dance number “LUNGS BURN” is a diamond in a sea of gems; the double-meaning lyrics of “OUT OF MY MIND,” a love song which Simmons describes as being about both their individual partners as well as their relationship as a band, has the potential to speak to millions of people. Then there’s the more guitar-oriented vibe of “BLUE,” a song spawned out of the past few years of political strife in America, described by Bruner as “a very special song to all of us.”
The result, SELF TITLED, is more than just a collection of 13 songs — it’s an actual album, deliberately sequenced to tell a story of self-doubt, self-reflection and eventually, self-love. But while the album is a document of its three members’ lives to this point, little image hopes to use it to connect with people across the globe

Today, Dallas alt-pop trio little image have released their stunning debut album, SELF TITLED, via Hollywood Records. In celebration of the record’s release, the band unveiled the cinematic video directed by Sawyer Skipper for album track “RUNWAY.” It’s an inherently simple concept of an open room with a focus on the band, in their signature painted-over suits, working and reacting together on a long red carpet. The video’s trippy cinematography and playful editing mimic the song’s eerie synths and vocal distortions leading into a cathartic celebration of tearing up the carpet, ripping up the pressure that comes from constant gazes of critics.
On the release, the band says, “The runway music video pokes at the simple yet important meaning into our record ‘SELF TITLED’. With it being the final single from the album, we wanted it to feel celebratory but also intentional. The idea of a blown up runway for us feels like the culture we are trying to create in this band and music. The reason we do this is to bring people together and not single ourselves out to be watched like hawks. The music industry can be like an intense, blinding light that never goes away. With the runway video, we found a way to get away from all that and be ourselves.”

little image morphed from a group of perpetually online suburban teens who were obsessed with underground indie rock and had no idea what they wanted to be into the tight-knit outfit you see today.
But while the album is a document of its three members’ lives to this point, little image hopes to use it to connect with people across the globe.

RELEASE NEW SONG “BALLET”
DEBUT ALBUM SELF TITLED
OUT MAY 12TH VIA HOLLYWOOD RECORDS
(credit: Tyler Krippaehne)
Today, Dallas alt-pop trio little image unveiled “BALLET,” the latest offering from their upcoming debut album, SELF TITLED releasing May 12 via Hollywood Records. From introspective verses to the band’s signature atmospheric sound and catchy chorus, “BALLET” is a reflective portrayal of one’s inner struggle with body image, and has all the makings of an alternative rock smash.
About the song the band reflected, “’BALLET’ is a raw look into our own and our culture’s struggle with self image. We are constantly comparing and asking ourselves why we look the way we do, looking in the mirror and finding a deep longing to see something that is different from who we are. We hope this song can encourage people to love themselves beyond the ideology we have instilled in our brains that we must look a certain way, and remember nobody else can be you other than you.”

This new burst of creativity led to a partnership with Copelin. Simmons credits Copelin with creating a warm, nurturing studio environment that allowed each member to explore their influences.

RELEASE NEW SINGLE
“BLUE”
Set to Open For Colony House on 2023 Tour

(credit: Tyler Krippaehne)
Today, Dallas alt-pop trio little image released their new single, “BLUE” via Hollywood Records. Drawn from the political strife in America over the past few years, “BLUE” is a mission statement wrapped in electronic-tinged trippy pop that is entirely their own.

“What inspired ‘BLUE’ is that sometimes in our culture, things can be very, very loud and you can hear a lot of opinions,” the band says.
“BLUE” follows the release of the band’s “LUNGS BURN,” a song with a thumping electronic baseline pairing perfectly with the lead singer’s slinky falsetto – a culmination of pure, synth-driven dance rock joy.
In 2023, the group is set to embark on a U.S. tour opening for Colony House from February through April, full dates below. Tickets are on sale now, buy HERE. The band recently blew audiences away opening for Panic! At The Disco and played a headline show at Los Angeles’ The Moroccan Lounge.

INTRODUCING
RELEASE NEW SINGLE
Today, Dallas alt-pop trio little image release their first song of 2022, “LUNGS BURN” via their new home of Hollywood Records. A thumping electronic baseline pairs perfectly with the lead singer’s slinky falsetto as the track culminates with a yearning “What have I got to do?” “LUNGS BURN” is a culmination of pure, synth-driven dance rock joy.

About the song the band said, “Taking a broad scope view of current culture and how damaging the idea of technology and the obsession with our self-image can be, it’s an invitation to let go, be yourself, and be present instead of drowning yourself in your phone and the toxicities that exist there. The song is a cry for people to come together and experience something without those things in play, and truly feel something bigger than themselves.”
